Sources of Power
Breathing
Ahhhh, Hmmmm! In Sanscrit it is Om the Primordial sound. Breathing!!!It starts our day it gives us energy. It is our breath which unleashes our source of power. I have been so fortunate to be able to get up on stage once again this week. Every time I get panicky I am going to forget my lines. I think it was because there were visitors sitting in our class and yesterday there were these actors and a model Ughh I wanted to skip it but I have made a commitment to keep on going to keep doing the exercises till I get my voice totally back !! My thoughts usually take on this tone: Who do you think you are? I am too funny looking I ‘ m too old now. Yesterday I noticed all these thoughts and that I was not breathing!
I do this for me. Not like years ago when I did it for someone else’s approval. I do this so that I express myself. Acting it is my Art! Each time I learn something more about myself & I feel a little freer. But while I was freaking out, I noticed my heart was pounding my breath was catching . I asked the teacher to excuse me for just a moment and stepped outside. I slowed, my breathing down and did not do anything, no mantra no thoughts no worries. Who is this for Jo it’s for you. I went back in and got up there. Thank God for the breath it is a vehicle for God’s grace to calm us down and to allow us to enjoy ourselves and to take action. It is one of the most basic sources of Power there is. I must not neglect it. I must use it .
you can go to 5 minute mark to get to the song!
