The Wisdom & Beauty of Friends

Wisdom
My friend from Suzanne just sent me some of the photos from the time last month when they came to visit me from Germany. I feel so fortunate to have such delightful people in my life. This year I have made a concerted effort to connect with and think of the people who I love.
I was taking care of this young man (I call him young because he was a few years younger than I am so that’s really young you know?) He was married and had a sweet wife and wonderful brother and a vivacious mother who breezed in then out again to wipe the tears away, while we were working out the details of how to help him get more comfortable. He was in a lot of pain and his shoulder was dislocated after the cancer had attacked his bone and the surgery to correct it left him more deformed then before. He was also struggling to breath & I was baffled and saddened until we sat down to figure this whole thing out. I was able to hook the oxygen up & got the medications to be delivered. I asked him what else I could do. He looked so intriguing & I ask what he was thinking about. He said: “My friend is coming in from London today to see me I love this guy~” I wish I could show the look in his eye but just think of Ezra when he has a funny secret’ Your friend I said that makes you feel better tell me about him . He did and he said in essence that he knew he was going to die and it was sad to leave the people he loved but that he felt as if he had really lived with and through the people he had loved. He said he intended to live in them…
I left his home changed I was really moved to reach out to and really live with the people who mean so much to me. It is really true God has gifted me with some of the best human beings on the planet, as friends and family. In the past I have focused on those who I felt I had to protect myself against. More recently my attention is on: loving those who I love more consciously and with more awareness then ever! I hope you get some wisdom from this ~I know its deep!

Well lots of love to you Kiss everyone for me this is a photo of an Owl that Suzanne‘s boyfriend Carsten captured while in the country. I think it’s BEAUTIFUL!

Th lonelier I get, the more I appreciate hugs from brothers and sisters and dear friends. I got the opportunity to reminisce about an old hymn that we sang at church with a dear one and it brought back such precious memories. Sometimes a hug from a dear friend is the best medicine for home sickness. I love hearing about your friends too.

That was the thing I used to want more than anything growing up Privacy! I would complain to God:too many people always around me. Now I love to see people and especially my brother and sisters. My family has expanded tho to my pets Donatello & Sophia, dear friends and even some patients and co workers. I know we really do just keep evolving. Thank you for your comments Jayne!
