Water Wind Waves Watch this!
I don’t think He said that but it must have seemed that way to the disciples. Jesus is in the middle of the ocean in a storm walking Hmmm WOW! It’s a contemplation I love. In my imagination I am usually Peter watching Him. A face of utter Serenity in the midst of the storm but He’s getting farther away and I am panicking not so much because He may be hurt but more questiong: “will he leave me like this?”~ in the middle of the storm~ Lord wait for me!” Call me to you and I will come”. Do you know??? I step out on the water and the storm is real, the water is wet & cold .. My Lord is walking with confidence and I try to mimic so there I take another step ~OMG there is no ground!!!! I take another step and I panic: “Lord I drown hold me help me ! O yee of so little faith. I fail every time! Sometimes His face is kind and other times it is impatient with me. But I argue & Justify myself :”Lord it is not my faith but your Grace by which all things are made possible I plead: Stay with me as I wipe the water from my eyes to hold hands with you another day!
I love to contemplate this teaching because what a message what a metaphor. Step out God shows us the way, using our own lives. Sometimes those waves are outside of us in the form of another person , a financial burden or other times the storm is within in the form of a challenge, a fear or limiting belief.
Jayne! you can say more on this reading from Matthew. I would love to hear.
Either way I think it is clear. Call out to Him he is there and shows us The Way!

I do love the Lord who shows Himself the master of the wind and the waves. Everytime I read that passage, God reveals His heart to me. The walking on the water that He does in front of me, is or, at times has been tempting me to follow Him into the deep. Seasons in my life, I have been Peter. Seasons of my life, I have been John...loving waiting for the instructions of the Lord. The Master of the Sea has a clear purpose of building a people who will, first know Him and then obey Him. Peter, always seemed to be trying to make things happen, here and there and all throughout Scripture. Jesus let him go to the end of his strength as He does me, when I get to that point in my pilgrimage. The main point that I am seeing now is that He is the Lord and He has the plans for me and for my life and when I want to hide my head under the covers(regularly) for fear of the tomorrows and the responsibility, He understands and leads me through that too. When I was jumping to walk with Him on the water He grabs me also. Learning to be His is the lifelong journey. Learning to follow Him where He is leading and what He wants us to do. Looking into the eyes of tomorrow in our responsibility and taking up our "cross" and following Him. On the water? maybe. Under the covers? Maybe not. Wherever He meets us. He doesn't condemn. He leads me. Where they were going was an awesome place...

You rock star you !
You know I am using a Bible Elyse gave me many years ago!
I knew you would be able bring out the color of that passage and make it an even more amazing portrait for me. Thank you Jayne. Yes I will have to check out the others in the boat too But that it is a life long journey and that He grabs you with out your calling is awesome truly!
Jesus was going to rescue one of the most defiled and wicked people that we see in the Scripture and the disciples had to be a little off balance to accept what Jesus was going to do next. They were all a grateful crew. When they saw the gratitude of the demoniac they were undone. Jesus has a way of scaring the pride out of us so that we can accept His unbounded mercy to others, as well as to us.
