“Energy is related to the Exhilaration you feel on a bright summer morning, or the inner glow you feel when all is going well in your life.” Julian & Susan Scott

It was overcast day in May 1983. Our family was going through a great deal of changes and uncertainty. Our oldest sister was getting married, although it was happy news we were all a little down because it felt like we were losing her. Our Grandmother was suffering in the throes of her yearlong battle with cancer~ another tremendous loss and another sister was going into labor. She looked so pale and very scared as she went off to the hospital. I can’t describe the feeling but it reminds me of champagne bubbles again when I remember the telephone call from my mother saying that our first niece was born!!!  We whooped, we hollered & we ran through the streets exhilarated. I remember thanking God that my sister was alive and that God trusted us with a new person, a helpless little girl who was going to need a tremendous amount of Love. We could do it!  I recall this because it was a time when even in the face of great sadness and great fear there was a ray of hope & a ray of joy which still brings me to almost full blown tears when I think about the great gift God gave us that day.  She is now a twenty something year old happily married mother of 2 and my sister went on to have many more tremendously inspiring children. My oldest sister got married and my grandmother died in June after seeing her first Great granddaughter. We did lose some things that year but we held fast to each other.

Life is often like this. It is filled with big events that happen when other big things are happening. Your feelings and emotions are vitally important to your will to live. When your “life force” is flowing you feel on purpose you feel up to any challenge.  Maybe it was a new boyfriend, maybe it was a great hike or a party of old friends that kept you laughing and signing. Think about it when have you felt Exuberant? Just remembering this may be really good for you. I’d love to hear you stories.
